São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Nangqian County is located in the southeast of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, in the transition zone between Tanggula Mountain and Hengduan Mountain Range, and is an important ecological barrier in the upper reaches of Lancang River. With an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters, it has vast alpine meadows, primitive forests and snow-capped glaciers, with magnificent and primitive natural scenery. As an important inheritance place of traditional Tibetan culture, Nangqian has thousand-year-old Tibetan Buddhist temples, such as Nangqian Temple, as well as unique intangible cultural heritages, such as black pottery craft and potshovel dance, and the rich ethnic flavor is intertwined with the natural landscape. The Lancang River Grand Canyon in its territory is majestic and steep, and the sacred mountain and sacred lake of Dana Temple is solemn and mysterious, which is an ideal place to experience Tibetan culture and feel the beauty of the plateau, and is regarded as the "living fossil of Kham and Ba culture".
