São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Naidong District is subordinate to Shannan City of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, and is the political, economic and cultural center of Shannan, located on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, with an average altitude of about 3,560 meters. As an important birthplace of Tibetan culture, Nai Dong has a deep historical heritage, and legend has it that the first Tibetan Zanpoche, Niechi Zanpoche, established the Tubo Dynasty here, which is known as the location of the "first piece of farmland in Tibet".
Naidong district is located in Tibet's first palace - Yongbrakang, built in the 2nd century BC, is a classic representative of Tibetan architecture. As one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in Tibet, Changzhu Monastery preserves precious murals and cultural relics from the Tang Dynasty. Surrounded by the Yarlung River Scenic Belt and the highland agricultural landscape, it has formed a unique scenery of humanities and nature blending.
Nowadays, Naidong has become an important transportation hub in central and southern Tibet, with the Lhasa-Linzhi high grade highway running through the whole territory. The urban area has perfect infrastructure, and while maintaining the traditional cultural characteristics, it is gradually developing the tourism industry and specialty agricultural products processing industry, making it an ideal destination for experiencing the culture of Tibetan origin and the plateau scenery.
