São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
The capital and largest city of the Russian Federation, Moscow is Europe's most populous metropolis, situated on the banks of the Moskva River in the middle of the Eastern European Plain, and with a history of over 870 years. It has been the center of power in Russia since the 12th century and the capital of the country in the 15th century, witnessing the transformation of Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union and modern Russia. With Red Square as its centerpiece, the city is famous for landmarks such as the Kremlin, St. Vasily's Cathedral and the Gum State Department Store, blending Orthodox culture with Soviet-era architecture. As a transportation hub and economic engine, Moscow is home to the headquarters of many of Russia's largest corporations, and its subway system, known as the "underground palace of art," attracts tourists from around the world every year to explore the fascinating blend of history and modernity.
