São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Mookane is a border town in eastern Botswana, bordering South Africa and about 200 kilometers north of the capital, Gaboro. The town, with a population of around 5,000, has an economy based on agriculture and livestock, with the surrounding fertile land supporting the cultivation of crops such as maize and sorghum, while cattle breeding is also an important livelihood for local residents. As a small trade node between Botswana and South Africa, Moocane retains a simple rural appearance, with a savannah climate that gives it four distinct seasons of wet and dry, and an average annual temperature of around 20-30 degrees Celsius. Despite its small size, the town's unique location and peaceful atmosphere make it a window into Botswana's rural culture, attracting travelers seeking an authentic travel experience.
