São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Meurès is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France, situated in the foothills of the Alps near famous ski resorts such as Chamonix and Méribel. It has a population of around 3,000 and is known for its natural beauty and winter sports facilities. Merles has a typical Alpine countryside, surrounded by mountains and forests, suitable for outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing. The economy is based on tourism, while traditional agriculture is maintained. It is well connected by road to cities such as Grenoble or Chambéry. The history dates back to the Middle Ages and local buildings such as the church of St. Maurice showcase the cultural heritage. Overall, Meurès is an ideal destination for exploring the tranquility and adventure of the French Alps.
