São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in Columbia County in southwestern Arkansas, USA, McNeil is a small community with a population of about 800, about 120 miles from the state capital, Little Rock. The town's economy is based on agriculture, producing soybeans, cotton and poultry, while retaining a strong southern country flavor. Local history dates back to the late 1800s and is named after early settler John McNeill, and late 19th-century wood-frame buildings and country churches can still be seen in the town. Despite its small size, McNeil has a close-knit community atmosphere and hosts an annual Family Day event that draws in neighboring residents. Surrounded by the Washitto National Forest, which provides outdoor enthusiasts with recreational resources such as hunting and fishing, it is an ideal place to experience rural Arkansas life.
