São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Maricopa is located in Pinal County, Arizona, USA and is an important part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The city was founded in 2003 and is one of the fastest growing cities in Arizona with a current population of about 60,000 people. Its name is derived from the Native American Maricopa tribe, meaning "people of the mountains".
Located in the Sonoran Desert, about 50 kilometers from Phoenix, Maricopa has a typical desert climate. Summers are hot and dry, winters are mild and sunny, and there are more than 300 days of sunshine per year. The city is surrounded by a unique Saguaro cactus landscape that reflects Arizona's unique desert ecology.
As an emerging city, Maricopa is known for affordable housing and family-friendly neighborhoods. The economy is dominated by services and retail, and in recent years has actively attracted technology and healthcare companies. Urban planning emphasizes green space and public spaces, with several neighborhood parks and recreational facilities.
Maricopa has a well-developed education system, including several public schools and a branch campus of Central Arizona College. Transportation relies heavily on Interstate 10 and Highway 347, connecting to major cities such as Phoenix and Tucson. Cultural events such as the annual Maricopa Country Fair highlight its blend of western tradition and modern life.
