São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Marble Canyon, located in northern Arizona, USA, is a spectacular canyon traversed by the Colorado River, adjacent to the eastern end of Grand Canyon National Park. It is known for its distinctive red limestone rock formations and narrow river channels, and derives its name from the marble-like texture in the rock. The area is part of Navajo County and is located in a remote nature preserve that serves as an important gateway to the Grand Canyon and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
Marble Canning is geographically connected to Lees Ferry, a popular starting point for rafting and fishing on the Colorado River, and spans the historic Navajo Bridge, which offers scenic views and hiking opportunities. The arid climate, with hot summers and mild winters, lends itself to outdoor adventures such as boating, photography and wildlife observation. Despite its sparse population, its geological wonders and the ecological value of the Colorado River attract visitors from around the globe, making it one of the highlights of Arizona wilderness tourism.
