São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Mancheng District, belonging to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the northwestern part of the North China Plain, about 15 kilometers away from Baoding City, with a total area of 658 square kilometers. As an important jurisdiction of Baoding, Mancheng is located in the core area of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei synergistic development, with convenient transportation, the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and Beijing-Kunming Expressway passing through the city.
Mancheng is the location of the tomb of Liu Sheng, the King of Zhongshan Jing of the Western Han Dynasty, and the "Golden Wisps of Jade Clothes" unearthed in 1968 shocked the world, and is now a national key cultural relics protection unit. The city has historical and natural landscapes such as the Han Tomb on Lingshan Mountain and Longtan Canyon, and produces agricultural products such as strawberries and miller's persimmons, which are known as the "Hometown of Strawberries in China".
Mancheng is now integrated into the development pattern of the main city of Baoding, and has formed three leading industries, namely paper making, machinery manufacturing and food processing. In recent years, Mancheng has actively developed eco-tourism and built several modernized agricultural parks, becoming an important base for leisure tourism and supply of green agricultural products in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
