São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Mahabad, one of the major cities of the Kurdistan Region, is located in the northwestern Iranian province of West Azerbaijan. Nestled in the northern foothills of the Zagros Mountains and close to the Turkish border, Mahabad boasts a unique geographic location and multicultural heritage. Historically, Mahabad was the capital of the short-lived "Republic of Mahabad" in 1946, an event that made it iconic in the Kurdish national movement. The city is centered on Kurdish culture, with the Kurdish language predominantly spoken by its inhabitants, and traditional music, crafts and festivals retaining a strong Kurdish flavor. The local economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, producing agricultural products such as wheat and nuts, and is also a regional trade center. Despite its remoteness, Mahabad has become a cultural and historical city in Iran's Kurdish region that cannot be ignored, thanks to its deep history and distinctive cultural features.
