São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Månsarholmen is a small settlement in the province of Dalarna in central Sweden, close to the famous tourist city of Mora. The area is situated on the shores of Lake Siljan and is known for its peaceful nature and typical Swedish redwood house architecture.
In the heart of Sweden's central lake district, Maddensholm is surrounded by forests and lakes, offering ice fishing and cross-country skiing in winter and outdoor activities such as hiking and boating in summer. Located about 5 kilometers from the center of Mulla, it is easy to get around and at the same time has an idyllic sense of tranquility.
The region retains a traditional Dalecarlian craft culture and is surrounded by World Heritage sites such as the Nordic Safari Park in Orsa and the Vaasa Ski Museum in Mura. The Vasa Ski Festival attracts visitors from all over the world every winter, making Maddensholm an ideal stopover for exploring Sweden's nature and culture.
The best time to visit is from May to September (summer days are up to 18 hours long) and from February to March (snow and ice activity season). It can be reached from Stockholm by train or by car (approx. 3.5 hours by car). Accommodation is mainly lakeside B&Bs and vacation chalets, suitable for families and nature lovers.
