São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Lushui City is located in the northwestern part of China's Yunnan Province, is the capital of the Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, and is situated in the canyon area of the Nujiang River between the Gaoligong Mountains and the Biluo Snow Mountains. The city has Lisu as the main ethnic group, multi-ethnic settlement, strong cultural diversity, with rich intangible cultural heritage and traditional festivals. Lushui has a subtropical mountain monsoon climate, rich natural resources and outstanding biodiversity, and is one of the important ecological barrier areas in Yunnan.
The economy is dominated by agriculture and tourism, focusing on the development of canyon sightseeing, ethnic culture tourism and ecological experience programs. Well-known attractions include the Grand Canyon of the Nujiang River, the Katama Crossing and the Lisu Folk Village. In recent years, infrastructure has continued to improve and accessibility has been enhanced, contributing to regional economic development and poverty reduction. Lushui is also a key area in China's "Three Regions and Three Prefectures" for poverty alleviation, with strong policy support.
