São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Linghai City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province of China, administered by Jinzhou City. It is located in the southwestern part of Liaoning Province, at the eastern end of the western Liaozhi Corridor, bordering the Bohai Sea to the east, with a total area of about 2,547 square kilometers. The city has a population of about 600,000, mainly Han Chinese, and Manchu, Hui and other ethnic minorities live in the city. The city has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic era, and is one of the important cultural and economic centers in western Liaoning.
Located in the Bohai Economic Circle, Linghai City has a flat terrain and a temperate monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and an average annual temperature of about 9°C. The coastal area is rich in marine resources and produces seafood such as shrimp and shellfish, and the agriculture is dominated by maize and rice cultivation. With the Daling River and Xiaoling River flowing through its territory, the area is rich in water resources and has a beautiful natural landscape suitable for eco-tourism and leisure vacation.
Linghai's economy is based on agriculture, fishery and industry. In recent years, it has been vigorously developing the marine economy and tourism, with infrastructure such as the Linghai Harbor. The city has a rich cultural heritage, with famous attractions including the Daling River National Wetland Park, the ruins of the ancient city of Linghai, and traditional northeastern folk activities.
