São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Legazpi, also known as Legazpi, is the capital of the Bicol Region and the center of the province of Albay in the Philippines, located on the southeastern island of Luzon. The seaside city is famous for the Mayon Volcano, a perfectly conical active volcano known as the "Most Perfect Volcano in the Philippines," a landmark and natural wonder that attracts tourists from all over the globe for hiking and sightseeing. Legazpi is not only the economic and transportation hub of the Bicol region, but it also blends Spanish colonial heritage with modern urban vibrancy, such as the San Gregorio Cathedral. As a gateway to popular tourist destinations such as Camarig Island (Caramoan), the local cuisine such as the Bicol Express (spicy pork stew) is also unique, making it an ideal destination for experiencing the nature and culture of the Philippines.
