Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.

Kamloops, Canada: British Columbia's Inland Vibrant City

Located in southern British Columbia, Kamloops is an inland hub city of about 100,000 people at the intersection of Highway 1 running north-south and Highway 97 running east-west. As the "Watersports Capital of Canada", the city is surrounded by over 100 lakes and rivers, and attracts visitors with four seasons of outdoor activities, from swimming, kayaking, and fishing in the summer to skiing at Cypress Hills in the winter. The city's economy is based on agriculture (fruit, livestock), education (Thompson Rivers University), and tourism, while retaining a rich aboriginal culture, characterized by the traditional arts and historical sites of the local Kamloops Indian Reservation. With its pleasant climate, easy access to public transportation and diverse natural and cultural experiences, Kamloops is the ideal gateway for exploring B.C.'s interior.
