São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Jixi is located in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province, China, on the border between China and Russia, bordering with Russia's Primorsky Krai, and is an important border port city in Heilongjiang Province and one of the core areas of the "Northeast Asian Economic Circle". As an important coal production base in China, Jixi has been known as the "coal city", rich in mineral resources, industrial base is strong.
In recent years, Jixi has been actively promoting economic transformation, vigorously developing green agriculture, ecological tourism and cross-border trade. The city boasts natural landscapes such as Xingkai Lake, Jumbo Island and the Ussuri River, of which Xingkai Lake is the border lake between China and Russia, famous for its wetland ecology and migratory bird habitats. Local specialties include Jixi Cold Noodles, Spicy Vegetables and other Korean-flavored meals, showcasing the fusion of multi-ethnic cultures.
Jixi is conveniently located with the Jixi Xingkai Lake Airport and a number of railroad lines, making it an important hub connecting northeastern China with the Russian Far East. The city is aiming at "transformation and upgrading, green development" to build a modern ecological livable city.
