São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the center of Jilin Province, Jilin City is the second largest city in Jilin Province, situated in the transition zone from the Changbai Mountains to the Songnen Plain, with the Songhua River meandering through the city. It has a long history and was once one of the birthplaces of the Manchus, and was an important military and commercial town during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Jilin City is renowned for its freezing fog wonders, which is one of China's four great natural wonders, along with the Guilin Mountains and Waters, the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and the Stone Forests of Yunnan Province, and attracts tourists from all over the world to the crystalline freezing fog on the banks of the Songhua River in winter. At the same time, it is also an important base for the chemical industry, and its agriculture is based on rice and corn, making it a rich and productive place. Jilin City combines natural scenery and cultural heritage, with the unique charm of a northern river city and the vitality of a modern city, making it an important tourist and industrial center in the Northeast.
