São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the northwest of Henan Province, Jiaozuo is one of the core cities of the Central Plains City Cluster, with the Taihang Mountains in the north and the Yellow River in the south. As the birthplace of Taijiquan in China, Jiaozuo is home to Chen's Taijiquan, a world-class intangible cultural heritage, and is known as the "Holy Land of Taijiquan".
Jiaozuo is famous for the Yuntai Mountain World Geopark, with red stone gorges, waterfall gorges and other Danxia landforms, which was listed as one of the world's first world geoparks by UNESCO in 2004. Qingtian River, Shennong Mountain and other scenic spots also attract many tourists with their majestic, dangerous and strange natural scenery.
Jiaozuo, known as Shanyang in ancient times, is the hometown of famous historical figures such as Sima Yi and Han Yu. In modern times, Jiaozuo has become an important energy base due to its rich coal resources, and is known as the "Coal Capital of the Central Plains". In recent years, Jiaozuo has been successfully transformed into a tourist city, and the high-speed railway network has made it a transportation hub in northwest Henan, connecting it to central cities such as Zhengzhou and Taiyuan.
