São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Hukou County is located in the north of Jiangxi Province, southeast of Jiujiang City, at the intersection of the south bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the entrance of Poyang Lake into the river, which is known as "the lock and key of the Yangtze River and Lake, and the thoroughfare of the three provinces". It is named "Hukou" where Poyang Lake enters the Yangtze River and is the water gateway of Jiangxi Province. The golden waterway of the Yangtze River and the water system of Poyang Lake meet here, forming the magnificent scene of "the lake lapping at the shore and the waves surging in the sky".
Hukou has a rich cultural heritage, Su Shi, a writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, wrote the famous piece "The Record of Shizhong Mountain", which makes it "the first mountain of China's ancient strange sound"; the territory has the national cultural heritage unit of Shizhong Mountain Scenic Spot, the ruins of the Huaiwang Palace of the Ming Dynasty and other monuments, as well as Hukou Cao Long, Qingyang Cavity, and other national non-heritages, which have been inherited for thousands of years. As a strong industrial county in Jiangxi, Hukou relies on the Yangtze River shoreline resources, layout of new materials, new energy and other industries, is an important manufacturing base in northern Gan. Meanwhile, the Poyang Lake Wetland Migratory Bird Sanctuary attracts hundreds of thousands of cranes and other rare birds to overwinter here every year, which is called "Migratory Bird Paradise", where nature and humanities meet.
