São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the southeastern part of Shanxi Province in China, Huguan County is part of Changzhi City and lies in the hinterland of the Taihang Mountains, known for its treacherous terrain and long history. The region has a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons, and agriculture and tourism are the pillars of the economy. Huguan is the main entrance to the Grand Canyon of the Taihang Mountains and boasts a national 5A-level tourist attraction, famous for its strange peaks, secluded valleys and natural ecology.
Historically and culturally, Huguan has been a military fortress since ancient times and is known as the "majestic pass of Ji'nan", with remnants of the ancient Great Wall and traditional villages remaining. Local specialties include Shanxi noodles, millet and walnuts. Conveniently connected to major cities in the province by highway and rail, it is suitable for eco-tourism and cultural heritage exploration.
