São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Huangzhou, now Huangzhou District, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, is located in the east of Hubei Province, on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and has been an important commercial and cultural town in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River since ancient times. Huangzhou is famous for its "Dongpo Culture". Su Dongpo, a great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, was banished here for five years, and wrote "Red Cliff Fugue", "Nian Nujiao - Red Cliff Huai Gu" and other ancient masterpieces, which made Huangzhou a landmark in the cultural history of China. The ancient battlefield site of Chibi (Wen Chibi), Anguo Temple, Qingyun Pagoda and other places of interest in the territory carry a deep historical heritage. Nowadays, Huangzhou is not only the political, economic and cultural center of Huanggang City, but also known as the "Hometown of Lotus Roots in China", with modern agriculture and cultural and tourism industries flourishing, and the thousand-year-old town is taking on a new era of vitality.
