São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the northern part of Beijing and at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain, Huairou District is an important ecological conservation area and a gateway to international exchanges for the capital. With its beautiful scenery and famous natural and humanistic landscapes such as the Mutianyu Great Wall, Yanqi Lake and Hongluo Temple, Huairou is known as the "Pearl of Beijing" with an annual average of more than 280 days of good air quality. As the location of Huairou Science City, Huairou focuses on cutting-edge fields such as material science and space science, and has laid out a number of national major scientific and technological infrastructures, thus becoming the core bearing place of Beijing's international scientific and technological innovation center. At the same time, Huairou relies on its ecological advantages to develop cultural tourism and green industries, and is a place where leisure and vacation, scientific and technological research and study, and history and culture merge, combining the beauty of nature and the newness of science and technology.
