São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Hailsham is a historic town in East Sussex, England, United Kingdom, about 100 kilometers south of London. Nestled on the edge of the South Downs hills, this charming market town is known for its rich agricultural tradition and pleasant countryside.
Hailsham has a history of over a thousand years, first recorded in the Doomsday Book of Judgement. Historically the town was known for its rope making and agricultural markets, particularly its famous 'Hailsham Rope' which was once an important supply for the British Navy. Today, the town still maintains a strong rural market character, with a weekly farmers' market that attracts residents and visitors alike.
Hailsham is located in the heart of East Sussex, just 13km from the seaside town of Eastbourne and 40km from Brighton. The excellent location makes it an ideal base for exploring the South Downs National Park and the English Channel coastline. The town has an excellent transportation network with easy access to the major surrounding cities.
Today Hailsham is a vibrant community center with modern amenities and traditional English architecture. The town center retains many historic buildings and is also equipped with shopping centers, schools and leisure facilities.
