São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located in the northwestern part of Taoyuan City, Taiwan, China, Turtle Mountain is the most populous administrative district in Taoyuan City. With a total area of about 72 square kilometers, the area is bordered by Linkou District in New Taipei City to the east and Taoyuan District in Taoyuan City to the west, and is situated on a tableland terrain with an average elevation of about 200 meters above sea level. As an important industrial and residential agglomeration, Gushan boasts industrial centers such as the Huaya Science and Technology Park and the Gongsi Industrial Park, which are home to high-tech industries such as electronics and machinery manufacturing.

In terms of transportation, Gushan Mountain is connected to Taipei and Taoyuan International Airport via major arterial roads such as National Highway No. 1 and Taiwan No. 1 Line, and there is also a station on the Airport Rapid Transit (MRT) line. There are public facilities and humanistic landscapes such as the Gushan National Sports Center and the Shoushanyan Guanyin Temple in the area, while rich natural green space resources are preserved based on the topography of the Linkou Tableland.

With a population of approximately 160,000 (2023 statistics), the area is an important integrated urban area in the North Taoyuan region, with both industrial development and residential functions.
