São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Guanmiao is located in the southern part of Tainan City, Taiwan Province of China, and is an administrative district under the jurisdiction of Tainan City. The area is famous for three specialties: pineapples, bamboo shoots and Guanmiao noodles, and is known as the "Hometown of Taiwan Pineapples". The name of Guanmiao originates from the Guan Di Temple established during the Qing Dynasty, which has a deep cultural heritage of faith.
Many traditional cultural activities have been preserved in the area, among which the birthday celebration of Guan Di in Shanxi Palace is the most famous. The area is also home to sightseeing resources such as forest trails and painted villages, as well as the unique brick kiln cultural landscape of the Xinguang community. Guanmiao has convenient transportation and can be quickly connected to downtown Tainan and the high-speed rail station via the Taiwan 86 Line Expressway, making it a typical Taiwanese township that combines agricultural specialties, religious beliefs, and recreational sightseeing.
