São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Fenlin Township is located in the southwest of Hualien County, Taiwan Province of China, in the center of the Hualien Plain, an important transportation node in the Hualien-East Valley, and is known as the "Barn of Beauty". With agriculture as its foundation, the town produces high-quality rice, vegetables and tropical fruits, and "Fenglin Rice" is a well-known rice product in Taiwan. The township is a blend of nature and humanity, with beautiful scenery in the vertical valleys and rich ecological resources in the neighboring water systems such as Hualien River and Xiuguluan River; traditional temples such as the Fenglin Shennong Palace carry local beliefs and cultures, and the Hakka and Southern Fujian settlements add diversified flavors to the township. As an important township in Hualien County, Fenglin combines idyllic tranquility with convenient transportation, making it an ideal stop for experiencing the charm of eastern China's humanities and nature.
