São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Easton is located in the eastern part of the state of Pennsylvania in the United States, and is the county seat of Lehigh County, situated at the confluence of the Delaware River and the Lehigh River, about 80 kilometers away from Philadelphia and 160 kilometers away from New York, which makes it an advantageous geographic location. Founded in 1752 and named after Easton in Oxfordshire, England, the city was an important stronghold during the American Revolutionary War and was the site of the reading of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, making it the first Pennsylvania city to publicly read the document. As the economic and cultural center of the Lehigh Valley, Easton is known for its quality education with prestigious institutions such as Lafayette College. The Old Town district retains a large number of 18th and 19th century buildings, such as the Downtown Plaza and the Kleiner Historical Museum, and hosts cultural events such as Heritage Fest every year to attract tourists. With an economy focused on manufacturing, healthcare, and education, and easy access to public transportation, the city combines historical heritage with modern vitality, making it a livable city in eastern Pennsylvania that cannot be ignored.
