São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Dongtou District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, located outside the mouth of the Oujiang River, is one of the 14 island counties (districts) in the country, known as the "County of Hundreds of Islands" and the "Pearl of the East China Sea". Here consists of 1038 islands and reefs, of which there are 14 inhabited islands, with unique marine resources and ecological landscape. The area is famous for the reef wonders of Xianjiyan, the "First Screen of God's Country" of Half Ping Mountain, and the "Building and Sea Wonders" of Wanghailou, which are a combination of island scenery, fishing village culture and coastal leisure. Dongtou also retains the rich southern Fujian style and fishing customs, and the annual "Mazu Cultural Festival" attracts many tourists. As a national marine park, with clear sea water and fresh air, Dongtou is a tourist resort integrating island sightseeing, marine sports and fishermen's cuisine, and is known as "Gulangyu Island of Wenzhou".
