São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in Delaware County in the central part of the state, about 40 miles north of Columbus, Delaware State Park in Ohio is a popular local outdoor recreation destination. The centerpiece of the park is Delaware Lake, a reservoir built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that encompasses approximately 940 acres and provides visitors with water activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming, and the lake is teeming with bass, catfish, and sunfish. The land portion boasts more than 4,500 acres of forests and grasslands winding through more than 15 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, and snowshoeing in the winter. The park features campgrounds, including campsites with water and electricity and primitive campgrounds, complete with picnic areas, children's playgrounds and observation decks, making it an ideal place for family gatherings, nature observation and escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. Its four seasons of natural beauty and amenities make it one of the most sought-after destinations in the Ohio State Parks system.
