São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Coloane Island is the southernmost outlying island of Macau, covering an area of about 8 square kilometers, and is connected to Taipa Cotai, but it is unique in its quiet and rustic fishing village atmosphere and natural beauty. The island retains a great deal of pristine landscapes, including Hac Sa Beach, known for its distinctive fine black sand and popular for surfing and surfing, and Chuk Wan Beach, which is surrounded by greenery and pleasant scenery. On the historical side, downtown Coloane is dotted with centuries-old buildings such as St. Francis of Assisi Church and Tam Kung Temple, which are a blend of Chinese and Portuguese cultures, and you can feel the flavor of the time when you stroll through them. Food lovers should not miss the Portuguese egg tarts and wood-fired puddings at Andrew's Bakery, or the seafood feasts at Coloane Fishing Pier. With the relaxation of the outlying islands and the cultural heritage, this is the ideal place to experience the slow life of Macau.
