São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located on the east coast of Barbados, Mount Gay is one of the country's most iconic natural landmarks. The 240-meter-high peak is not a traditional "knife-edge" terrain, but is named after the famous rum brand "Mount Gay Rum", which is regarded as one of the world's oldest rum brands and has been brewed on the site since 1703. It has been brewed here since 1703. Surrounded by spectacular cliffs and coastline overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Mount Gay Rum is the perfect place for hiking, people-watching and experiencing the Caribbean. In addition, the observation deck at the top of the mountain offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Barbados, from the blue Caribbean Sea to the lush green sugar cane fields, creating a unique tropical landscape that makes it a must-visit destination for exploring the history and nature of Barbados.
