São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Baghdad, the capital and largest city of Iraq, is located in the middle of the Mesopotamian plains, with the Tigris River running through the city. As a historical and cultural center of the Arab world, Baghdad was once the capital of the Abbasid dynasty and is known as the "City of Peace". The city is rich in historical monuments such as the Abbasid Palace and the University of Mustansiriya, as well as modern landmarks such as the Martyrs' Monument. Despite years of conflict, Baghdad is gradually rebuilding with an economy dominated by oil, trade and services. The population is about 8 million and the climate is hot desert type with hot and dry summers. The city is the political, economic and transportation hub of Iraq, connecting it to important routes in the Middle East.
