São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Ashford, located in the northeastern part of Connecticut, USA, belongs to Windham County and is a small town known for its idyllic scenery and tranquil atmosphere. With a population of about a few thousand, it is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and retains the typical countryside of New England, with a forest cover of more than 70%, making it suitable for outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. The town center retains 19th-century architecture, such as the historic Ashford Marketplace, and is surrounded by nature preserves such as the Nipsic State Forest, where the fall foliage is particularly stunning. The residents are known for their friendliness and community activities, making it an ideal place to experience Connecticut's rural life, about an hour from Hartford, with easy access to public transportation but exclusive access to natural serenity.
