São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Arden, Delaware, located in New Castle County, Delaware, USA, is a historic arts community founded in 1900 under Henry George's "Single Tax" philosophy. The village is known for its self-governance, craftsmanship, and natural atmosphere, and has a population of approximately 300 people in an area of only 0.27 square kilometers. The village retains quaint log cabins, art studios, and a community theater, and residents are actively involved in theater, craft making, and other cultural activities. As one of the earliest single-tax experimental communities in the United States, Arden Croft's land is owned by the community, and residents gain the right to use it by paying ground rent, reflecting the values of equality and sharing. Its unique cultural appeal and serene setting have made it one of Delaware's highly sought-after tourist destinations.
