São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Anyuan County is located in the south of Jiangxi Province in China, belonging to the city of Ganzhou, and is situated at the confluence of the Wuyi and Nanling mountain ranges. The county has a total area of 2,375 square kilometers and a population of about 350,000, with Hakka culture as the main humanistic feature.
With a forest coverage of over 80%, Anyuan County is home to the National Forest Park, Sanbaishan Mountain, the source of the Dongjiang River, and is known as the "drinking water source of Guangdong and Hong Kong". There are rich geothermal resources in the county, and the hot springs are of excellent quality.
With agriculture as its leading industry, Anyuan is a national demonstration base for the production of pollution-free agricultural products, and is rich in navel oranges, passion fruits and other specialty fruits. In recent years, the ecotourism industry has developed rapidly, and the Sanbaishan Scenic Area has become an important tourist destination in Gannan.
Anyuan County was founded in the 10th year of Datong in Liang Dynasty (544 AD), with a history of nearly 1500 years. It is an important inheritance place of Hakka culture, preserving intangible cultural heritages such as round-house complexes and tea-picking operas, and organizing Hakka Folklore and Culture Festival every year.
