Huxian County (now known as Shuangyi District) is located in the southwestern part of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, China, and is one of the municipal districts of Xi'an City. It is located in the middle of Guanzhong Plain, with the Qinling Mountains to the south and the Weihe River to the north, covering a total area of 1,282 square kilometers and a population of about 600,000 people. Tuxian County has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic Age, and the county was set up during the Qin Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,200 years of establishment to date.
The region is known for its agriculture and tourism, and is the "Hometown of Chinese Peasant Paintings", with Tuxian Peasant Paintings renowned both at home and abroad. The economy is dominated by modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing and cultural tourism, with a 2022 GDP of 30 billion yuan. Famous attractions include the Vermilion Bird National Forest Park, the Taiping National Forest Park and the Caotang Temple, which is the ancestral home of the Sanlun Sect of Buddhism.
With convenient transportation, Tuxian is 50 kilometers away from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, and several expressways and railroads run through the whole area. As an important part of Xi'an National Center City, Tuxian is actively promoting the integrated development of urban and rural areas to become an important node area of the Guanzhong Plain City Cluster.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
