Located in the southeastern part of China's Henan Province, Douchuan County is part of Xinyang City and is situated in the Huaihe River Basin, with a total area of about 1,660 square kilometers. As of 2020, the population is about 860,000 people. The county has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of the Central Plains culture. It is mainly an agricultural area, producing rice, wheat and other crops, and its economy is gradually transforming into industry and tourism.
Diaochuan has a deep cultural heritage, being the hometown of Huang Guo during the Spring and Autumn Period, with a number of historical relics remaining, such as the ruins of the ancient city of Huang Guo.
