Hsinchu City, located in the northwest of Taiwan, is a major science and technology city in Taiwan and is known as "Taiwan's Silicon Valley". It is home to the Hsinchu Science Park, Tsinghua University, National Chiao Tung University, and other top research institutes and universities, and has become a core R&D base for the semiconductor and information technology industries.
