Hopewell is an independent city in the U.S. state of Virginia, located on the banks of the James River, adjacent to Richmond and Petersburg. The city covers an area of about 28 square kilometers with a population of about 22,000 and is known for its industrial manufacturing and historical heritage.
Hopewell has its origins in the 17th century, but modern development began with the chemical boom of the early 20th century. Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
