Höfn is a charming fishing port town in southeast Iceland, situated on the Hornsfjord peninsula, about 450 kilometers from Reykjavik. Its name means "harbor" in Icelandic, a vivid reflection of the coastal town's core character.
Surrounded by the Vatna Glacier (Europe's largest glacier) and close to the Jägulsärn Glacier Lake and the Diamond Ice Beach, Hepburn is an ideal base from which to explore the natural wonders of south-east Iceland. Spectacular glacier tongues and black sand beaches can be seen around the town, and in the summer you can experience the polar day phenomenon.
As the "Lobster Capital of Iceland", Høben is famous for its high quality crayfish, which attracts a large number of tourists to the town's annual summer lobster festival.
