Höfn is a charming fishing port town in southeast Iceland, situated on the Hornsfjord peninsula, about 450 kilometers from Reykjavik. Its name means "harbor" in Icelandic, a vivid reflection of the coastal town's core character.
Surrounded by the Vatna Glacier (Europe's largest glacier) and close to the Jägulsärn Glacier Lake and the Diamond Ice Beach, Hepburn is an ideal base from which to explore the natural wonders of south-east Iceland. Spectacular glacier tongues and black sand beaches can be seen around the town, and in the summer you can experience the polar day phenomenon.
As the "Lobster Capital of Iceland", Høben is famous for its high quality crayfish, which attracts a large number of tourists to the town's annual summer lobster festival. The local restaurants offer fresh lobster dishes, which have become an iconic culinary experience. Fishing is still the mainstay of the town's economy.
Visitors can take part in glacier hikes, ice cave expeditions and Jaguar Saloon cruises from Hepburn. Winter is a popular spot for viewing the Northern Lights, while June-August is good for hiking and bird watching. The town has excellent amenities and is a key stopping point on trips around the island.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
