Hiko is surrounded by a unique natural environment and is close to the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, a hidden destination for birdwatchers and desert ecology enthusiasts. Despite its remoteness, the town attracts travelers seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle with its tranquil atmosphere and raw western charm, epitomizing the experience of rural Nevada life.
