Highland Lake is an unincorporated community and man-made lake area in Blount County, Alabama, United States, located in the north-central part of the state. The area is known for its scenic lake communities and peaceful natural surroundings.
The Highland Lakes watershed is approximately 280 acres surrounded by dense forests and rolling hills and is part of the southern fringe of the Appalachian Mountains. The lake's mild climate and four distinct seasons make it ideal for outdoor recreation. The lake was created through artificial damming and is an important local water resource and ecological habitat.
The area is predominantly a residential community with a low population density of lakefront homes and vacation homes.
