Heyuan, a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province, is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province and in the middle and upper reaches of the Dongjiang River. It is an important ecological barrier and water source of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and is known as the "Source of the Ten Thousand Green Rivers". As the source of Dongjiang water, Heyuan maintains Class I-II water quality all year round, supplying Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and other cities, and is the "big water tank" of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area.
