Hexian is a county under the jurisdiction of Maanshan City, Anhui Province, People's Republic of China, located on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, adjacent to Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The region has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, boasting a history of over 2,200 years of countyhood. With agriculture, manufacturing and tourism as its leading economic industries, Hexian is rich in rice, rape and vegetables, and is also known as the "Hometown of Chinese Vegetables".
Hexian County is rich in cultural heritage, such as the Bawang Ancestral Temple, Tianmen Mountain, Jigong Mountain and other historical attractions, as well as the ancient ape-man ruins, which prove that it was once an area of early human activities. Liu Yuxi's former residence, the "ugly room", is also located here, highlighting its cultural heritage.
