Hexian is a county under the jurisdiction of Maanshan City, Anhui Province, People's Republic of China, located on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, adjacent to Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The region has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, boasting a history of over 2,200 years of countyhood.
