The climate is temperate and continental, with four distinct seasons, mild summers and cold, snowy winters, making it suitable for year-round tourism. The town is surrounded by forests and hills, making it an ideal vacation spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Herrnstein retains its old churches and local folklore, allowing visitors to experience the traditional Austrian way of life. Xinlin, belonging to the Daxinganling region of Heilongjiang province, is located in the eastern side of the Yilhuli mountain range of the Daxinganling, one of the northernmost administrative regions of China, known as the "Emerald of Xing'an". The forest coverage here is over 90%, with well-preserved primitive cold-temperate coniferous forest ecosystems, four distinct seasons, cool and pleasant in summer and silver in winter, which is a natural oxygen bar and summer resort. As a key state-owned forest area, Xinlin takes forestry as the pillar industry, and at the same time relies on ecological resources to develop forest recreation, ice and snow tourism and other specialty industries. Within the territory, there are natural landscapes such as the Bizhou National Forest Park and the Huma River, which have bred rich wildlife resources. The unique geographic location and ecological advantages make Xinlin an important barrier guarding the ecological security of China's northern border, and an excellent destination for experiencing the flavor of the Northeast's forests and snowfields.
