Hengdong County is located in the southeastern part of Hunan Province, China, under Hengyang City, in the middle reaches of Xiangjiang River, with a total area of 1,926 square kilometers. It is known as the "Hometown of Fish and Rice" and the "Hometown of Nonferrous Metals". Agriculture is based on rice, oilseed rape and pig breeding, while industry relies on lead, zinc and other mineral resources.
