Montenegro County is located in the western part of China's Liaoning Province, under the city of Jinzhou, at the northern end of the western Liaozhi Corridor, with a total area of about 2,486 square kilometers and a population of about 600,000 people. The county has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic Age, and is one of the important cultural birthplaces in western Liaoning.
