Hegang City is located in the northeast of China's Heilongjiang Province, at the eastern foot of Xiaoxingan, at the confluence of the Heilongjiang and Songhua Rivers, across the river from Russia, with a 175-kilometer-long border, making it one of the most important border cities in Heilongjiang Province. As a resource-oriented city that thrives on coal, Hegang was once famous for its rich coal resources and was known as "Coal City". In recent years, with the transformation of resource-exhausted cities, Hegang has gradually attracted attention by relying on the advantage of low housing prices, and has become the choice of many young people and freelancers to settle down, while actively developing modern agriculture, eco-tourism and other industries to promote the diversified development of the city's economy. With long, cold winters and abundant snow and ice resources, the city combines a bold northeastern flavor with border characteristics.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
